The Chase Bays Hydro Handbrake Brake Line Kit is designed for those who want to easily plumb a hydraulic hand brake into their C5 | C6 chassis. We offer this kit with 2 variations...
Stand Alone - This type is designed to use a dual rear caliper stand alone setup. It routes directly from the Handbrake Master Cylinder to the secondary calipers on the rear knuckles. We use bulkhead fittings to pass thru the chassis so both smoke or rain/snow doesn't have path to get into the cabin.
Inline / Pass Thru Type - This type is plumbed inline between the existing rear brake line(s). The handbrake master cylinder pushes the fluid that is already routed to the rear calipers when the handle is pulled to lock up the rear. It starts at the factory rear brake hardline connections, OR if you have the Chase Bays Brake Line Relocation for Brake Booster Eliminator; it starts at the Bias Valve OUT side. Then through the firewall through an access hole or bulkheaded below the Bias Valve, and to the Hydro Handbrake. This is an additional $50 USD for the extra line(s) and adapter(s).
Aside from that line section, both kits continue to and from the Hydro Handbrake ports and move toward the rear of the car through the interior. Once the line tee’s off to both sides, the bulkhead fittings can be installed through rear trunk and connect the final lines between them and the brake calipers. Make sure to route the line in the wheel well above and away from any moving suspension/drivetrain components factoring in for moment during the suspension travel.
This eliminates the entire hardline that runs under the chassis and the lines that currently connect to your calipers. If you ever change from inline to stand alone setup, you will just connect the rear brake line(s) in the engine bay and at calipers like you had before, and then use this existing kit (without the MC to Handbrake line) to connect to your new calipers. How great right?! If you plan on staying inline forever you could remove the rear brake hard lines from the car entirely to save weight and eliminate clutter.
The kit uses 3AN stainless steel braided, Teflon PTFE lined, black PVC coated lines with stainless steel hose ends. We use the best components in the industry and we pressure test every line we assemble. We guarantee a leak free start up if this product is installed correctly.
