Chase Bays Oil Catch Can Kit for 86 / BRZ / ZN6 with EZ30 / EZ36

The EZ30 / EZ36 Flat-6 benefits from proper crankcase ventilation and oil separation, especially when driven hard. These engines use both a PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) outlet and a CCV (crankcase ventilation) outlet, with both located on the driver’s side (left) valve cover. Our kit brings both outlets into ONE catch can, eliminates the PCV valve, and simplifies the plumbing while keeping the installation clean and compact. We delete the PCV since the catch can out air routes back to intake pre-throttle body. This is just to pull air from the engine for better ventilation, but with the catch can there's no oil vapor.

This is one of the most important supporting modifications for your EZ swap. A properly configured catch can eliminates oil entering the intake, limits carbon buildup, and manage crankcase pressure. Keeping oil mist out of the intake also helps preserve the knock resistance of your air/fuel mixture—particularly valuable during spirited driving, track use, and boosted applications. It maintains the octane of your fuel.

Our Oil Catch Can features 10AN ORB inlets and outlet ports, 3-stage oil separation baffling, a dipstick, and an O-ring-sealed can suitable for properly configured boosted and recirculated systems. We recommend a closed, recirculated system to maintain controlled crankcase ventilation and reduce the oil vapors and smells associated with vent-to-atmosphere setups.

The catch can mounts on the drivers left corner side of engine bay keeping the installation compact and great looking. Both the outlets on the valve cover route to individually to the two inlets of the catch can. The outlet then routes back to the intake manifold on naturally aspirated applications or to the turbo inlet, before the turbocharger, on boosted applications, with the appropriate PCV and check-valve configuration.

And finally, a small detail that makes maintenance easier: an ethanol-resistant petcock drain for straightforward draining without removing the can.
