Chase Bays Power Steering Kit - Nissan 240sx S13 / S14 / S15 with LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7

$399.99

SKU: CB-N-PSKLS

The all new redesigned Chase Bays Power Steering Kit for Nissan 240sx / Silvia S13, S14, or S15 is designed to eliminate common factory power steering leaks, fluid spillover, & overheating issues w/ improved aesthetics, durability & stealthy design. It is a full 100% upgraded A.N. Hose and Fitting replacement of the stock reservoir and hoses. From the reservoir to pump to rack (and cooler if upgraded). ALL Hose and Hose Ends are BMRS aka Brown and Miller Racing. This is the best Hose/Hose Ends in the world, the same components seen on NASCAR and Indy Car. All the Fitting Adapters are designed and manufactured by Chase Bays to be chassis specific for perfect leak free installs.

Our over-engineered Triple-Baffled Power Steering Reservoir (aeration & spillover proof) is at the core of this kit. It optionally comes w/ an upgraded Setrab Oil Cooler that can mount under driver side headlight (or in center) for additional airflow. Chase Bays only uses highest quality components available. Our reservoir is constructed of 6061 aluminum & is anodized black w/ laser etched cap. The reservoir uses our aluminum bracket & can be mounted in stock location.

Triple Baffled Power Steering Reservoir
Countless hours of research & development were put into our newest Power Steering Reservoir. This isn’t as simple as putting 2 fittings on a fluid container & calling it a day. It's far more complex. The smaller fitting on the Reservoir is the fluid return from the rack. It can be sent back at pressures up to 120psi. When that hits the fluid in reservoir can cause extreme foaming aeration if not properly slowed down & directed. The more steering & RPM on the car, the higher pressures will be. This is also what causes spillover through the cap under heavy use. Most people think fluid is boiling over when this happens but in most cases It’s..just turbulence.

We've put serious engineering time into the internal design to negate aeration & spillover entirely. This Power Steering Reservoir has rave reviews.  In reservoir photos you can see "chimney" inside, there's a multi-layer design w/i this chimney. We can't give away all our secrets, but just know you won't have any aeration or spillover issues. B/w on track testing & computer fluid dynamics, we’re able to slow down 120psi to 12psi in 2" of fluid motion. Thats just 2 of the baffles, it doesn’t end there.

Power Steering is a loop hydraulic system so it needs to be vented. The cap has a unique baffle design to block fluid from pushing out the vent. Go to any road race/drift/rally event & look at all factory & most aftermarket power steering reservoirs. By end of the day there's spillover all around the reservoir. It was our goal to be the 1 in 100 reservoirs to have no spillover. We're proud to say; that goals been met.

COLD FILL POINT: Halfway filled up on reservoir.

Reservoir Mounting
Our clever reservoir mounting brackets make a few adjustments from stock one. The bracket works for S13, S14 & S15 chassis unlike stock.  S13 the bolt holes used are slightly further back on shock tower (like S14 & S15) but positioning is nearly the same. We did push reservoir toward the engine 1” to allow room for wheel tubs.

Hoses | Adapters
The high-pressure rack to pump hose is -6AN stainless steel, Teflon PTFE lined & black PVC coated. This coating makes the hose resistant to chaffing if it routes against metal or a fellow hose. The -6AN rack to reservoir & -10AN reservoir to pump hoses are abrasion resistant, black nylon sheathed & stainless steel reinforced. They are all completed w/ high end black aluminum AN fittings & Metric to AN adapters for rack & pump conversion to AN.

We do replicate / upgrade factory rack connections. They use an inner o-ring seal instead of a sealing washer or flare seal, so hex won’t visibly seat all the way. This is okay as seal happens on bottom of fitting. S chassis racks have deep threads so we make custom length adapters & use an o-ring twice the thickness from stock one.  You'll enjoy a leak free power steering setup for years to come.

Fluid Cooler
Our optional cooler add-on features our black heat sink fluid cooler that’s all aluminum.  It’s black coated for durable stealthy finish. Very compact, very effective. We’ve seen 20º degree F drops in temps from this cooler.

Applications

S13 / S14 / S15 RHD and LHD with:
LS1 & LS6 (require pump swap to 97-04 Corvette type for external reservoir use)
LS2
LS3
LS7

Chase Bays Power Steering Kit for LS1 LS6

Revisions:
• We've developed a bracket that works for both S13 & S14/S15 chassis to mount reservoir in the stock location. See Reservoir Mounting above for more info
• We now provide the proper inner o-ring seal rack fittings. We had to manufacture these as no one provides an off the shelf piece w/ long enough metric side threads to create a seal. We also doubled the size on o-ring for a more reliable seal. Take note the hex will NOT bottom out when you install. The seal happens on bottom of fitting. Do not over-tighten this fitting! Better to under-tighten & have a small leak to fix vs a cracked rack. Adding a 1/4 turn to a fitting is easier than replacing a rack.
